What do a Caribbean oceanfront golf course and the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland have in common? The Cap Cana Golf Cup 2026 brought them together under one theme: 20 Years of Wonder.
Held on October 23 and 24, the tournament marked the 20th anniversary of Punta Espada Golf Club. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and inaugurated in 2006, it was Cap Cana’s first golf course.
Over two days, competitive golf was complemented by social gatherings and activities inspired by the world of Alice.
20 Years of Wonder, a Celebration of Imagination
The fantasy and sense of wonder of Alice in Wonderland inspired this year’s creative concept. The tournament celebrated two decades of history with an experience that extended beyond the golf course.
The anniversary also offered an opportunity to reflect on Punta Espada’s evolution. Its 18-hole layout, seamlessly integrated into the coastal landscape, has helped establish Cap Cana as a leading golf destination in the Caribbean. The course has also earned recognition from the renowned golf publication Golfweek.
Where Sports meets Lifestyle
The Hospitality Tent became one of the main gathering spots during the Cap Cana Golf Cup. Throughout the two-day event, players, their companions, and special guests enjoyed a curated program of activities.
Highlights included a mahjong class led by Diana Mella and a pop-up by fashion designer Carolina Sanz. Guests also enjoyed an ice cream station featuring a selection of toppings from Caramella Cookies.
Fashion, entertainment, and gastronomy complemented the sporting program, creating opportunities to connect and enjoy the tournament from a different perspective.

On the Leaderboard
More than 250 golfers participated in this year’s tournament, played in a two-person Scramble format with scheduled tee times.
Marcel Olivares and George Veras claimed the overall title with a net score of 64.
In Category A, Troy Farmer and Angelo Toscano secured first place. Tim Ford and Mary Ford won Category B, while Leocadio Cruz and Juan Tomás Richiez took the top spot in Category C.
In the women’s category, Cristina Pardo and Ja Elam finished in first place.
The awards ceremony was led by Jorge Subero Medina, Executive President of Cap Cana, and Héctor Baltazar, Vice President of Operations and Development.

A celebration with purpose
The Cap Cana Golf Cup also continued its commitment to Fundación Forjando un Futuro, an organization that supports educational initiatives for children and young people in nearby communities.
Through player participation and contributions associated with the tournament, the event helps support these projects.
In this way, Punta Espada’s anniversary celebration also carried a meaningful charitable purpose.
