New Smart Emergency Stations Support Safer Communities

Cap Cana is advancing its safety infrastructure through new technology across the Destination City. Its latest initiative is the installation of smart emergency stations at Fishing Lodge. The system is designed to provide immediate assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for both residents and visitors.

Located in one of Cap Cana’s busiest nighttime areas, these stations allow anyone to request assistance with the push of a button. Once activated, the alert is sent immediately to the Monitoring Center, where an operator contacts the person requesting help and coordinates the appropriate response based on the nature of the incident.

Technology designed for real-time response

The new emergency stations at Fishing Lodge operate as an intelligent outdoor safety system. They combine video surveillance, two-way communication and geolocation technology. As a result, the Monitoring Center immediately identifies the location of an incident. It then contacts the person requesting assistance and coordinates the appropriate response.

Each station features a high-definition PTZ camera, an emergency call button, GPS, microphones, a loudspeaker, a siren and an emergency light. It also connects to Cap Cana’s broader security infrastructure. This includes closed-circuit television (CCTV), surveillance drones, access control technology and real-time GPS tracking of response teams. Together, these technologies enable a faster and more coordinated emergency response.

Assistance for multiple types of emergencies

The system minimizes response times. When someone presses the emergency button, the alert goes directly to the Monitoring Center. An operator immediately establishes visual and audio communication, gathers the necessary information and activates the appropriate emergency protocol.

Depending on the situation, Cap Cana Security, the Medical Center, the Fire Department, the Operations team or the Dominican Republic’s National Emergency System (911) may respond. Throughout the incident, the Monitoring Center oversees the situation through real-time video surveillance.

People can use the stations during any emergency. This includes medical emergencies, traffic accidents, fires, theft, physical altercations and security-related incidents. They can also request assistance for intoxicated individuals, excessive noise that could escalate, rescue operations, flooding, structural collapses and hazardous material emergencies.

Why Fishing Lodge was chosen as the first location

Fishing Lodge became the first location to receive these stations because it attracts a high volume of people, particularly during the evening hours. Its mix of restaurants, bars, retail stores and entertainment venues makes it one of the busiest areas within Cap Cana. This made it the ideal location to begin implementing the new emergency station network.

Part of Cap Cana’s integrated safety strategy

The emergency stations form part of Cap Cana’s comprehensive safety strategy. The plan strengthens emergency response capabilities and reduces response times across the Destination City.

The stations connect to Cap Cana’s broader security network. The network combines access control, fixed and mobile security patrols, video surveillance, drone monitoring, operational supervision and real-time GPS tracking of response teams. Together, these technologies help response teams coordinate assistance faster and more efficiently whenever an incident occurs.

As part of this long-term strategy, Cap Cana plans to expand the emergency station network to other strategic areas of the Destination City, including Juanillo Beach, Ciudad Las Canas and Central Park.

This initiative marks another step in Cap Cana’s long-term investment in technology-driven safety. The goal is to deliver faster, more coordinated and more efficient assistance for residents, property owners, visitors and tourists.
