The St. Regis Cap Cana Rum marks a new chapter in the resort’s luxury experience. Created in collaboration with Ron Matusalem, one of the world’s oldest independent rum houses, this exclusive private label was unveiled during an elegant evening at The Amber Room. Guests were introduced to the new rum through guided tastings. They first enjoyed it neat and later in signature cocktails. Each tasting highlighted the rum’s complexity and versatility.
The art of the blend
Two years in the making, the project marks the resort’s first spirits collaboration. The limited release includes just 200 individually numbered bottles. Produced in the Dominican Republic, the blend is aged in American oak ex Bourbon and French oak ex Cognac casks. The result is a refined flavor profile with notes of vanilla, coconut, caramel, figs, raisins, peach, apricot, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

The bottle itself is part of the experience. A handcrafted crystal decanter features elegant gold-ink detailing. A bespoke gift box crafted from a sustainable composite of Bordeaux Forest wood powder and cornstarch completes the presentation. Together, they transform the rum into a collector’s piece that reflects the artistry and meticulous attention to detail shared by both brands.
“Craftsmanship and a sense of place have defined this resort since we opened, and this rum is the clearest expression of that yet, and one we are proud to share with our guests starting this summer”, says Laura Santoni, General Manager of The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort.
Rooted in heritage
Founded in Santiago de Cuba in 1872 and now produced in the Dominican Republic, Ron Matusalem remains one of the last independent rum houses in the world. Today, the company is led by the fifth generation of the founding family and continues to bring more than 150 years of expertise and innovation to markets in more than 70 countries.
“For Ron Matusalem, this collaboration is an opportunity to express our century old know how through a creation that could only belong to this destination… From the selection of casks to the final presentation, St. Regis Cap Cana Rum reflects the craftsmanship, patience, and family legacy behind our house”, says Yoze Torres, Global CEO of Ron Matusalem.
