From January 16 to 20, 2020, Cap Cana will be the place to be with the realization of the first Cana Dorada International Film Festival, an international event that seeks to highlight the important role of cinema, television and streaming platforms in the world of entertainment in Latin America.
By the hand of Millenium Films, one of the most important producers of Hollywood, with more than 300 films under its belt; the businesswoman Raquel Flores and the actor Fernando Colunga (Co-founder of the festival) will make the first edition of the festival at the luxurious Eden Roc Hotel and Hotel Sanctuary Hotel in Cap Cana. As a representative of the world of Latin American entertainment, actor Julián Gil will be the official host of the event with former Miss Universe, Zuleyka Rivera. Special guest stars will attend such as Paz Vega, José Luis Rodríguez (EL PUMA), Gerard Butler, Nicole Slack Jones, Lala Anthony, Iván Sánchez, Marc Clotet, Aaron Diaz, Aracely Arámbula, Paul Higgins, Danny Houston, Larenz Tate, Naturi Laughton and Shane Johnson.
This exclusive festival in the Dominican Republic will be supported by influential directors and producers from Hollywood: Allen Shapiro, Maurice Fadida, Sophie Watts, Cheryl Boone Issacs, Mark Canton, Dorothy Canton, Darina Pavlova, Paul Haggis and many more. The outstanding Israeli-American filmmaker Avi Lerner will receive the award for excellence for his outstanding cinematographic career of more than 50 years, during the celebration of the first edition of Cana Dorada International Film Festival. The documentary ‘Santo Domingo’ by the renowned Dominican-Spanish director José Pintor (Pinky), has been selected by the organization of Cana Dorada International Film Festival and DGCine to be the Dominican audiovisual piece that opens this event in its present installment. The NEBAJ film by the renowned Guatemalan filmmaker Kenneth Müller is one of the cinematographic works that will be shown during the festival.
The cast of one of the most watched series called ‘Power’ by Starz and executive producer Mark Canton, also joins the celebration of Cana Dorada International Film Festival.
Cana Dorada will serve to highlight the important role that Dominican cinema plays in the cultural interaction and the construction of communication and creativity bridges between the Latin American entertainment industry and the most important figures of the Hollywood film world.
The main objective of the festival is be to generate dialogue and opportunities for new projects between producers and investors in the music, television, streaming and film industry.
These 4 unforgettable days will be full of cinematic premieres, red carpets, musical presentations and gala nights with the participation of world-renowned celebrities, international entrepreneurs and movie lovers.
