The Dominican Republic has a new headliner: At $25 million, the mansion-sized Astor Penthouse at The Residences at The St. Regis Cap Cana—set to open later this year—is one of the most expensive properties to hit the country’s housing market.
Situated on the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic, Cap Cana has become one of the Caribbean’s fastest-growing destinations, with more than $1.9 billion invested in infrastructure and amenities since its inception roughly 20 years ago.
The duplex “is the crowning jewel of the new St. Regis Cap Cana development,” says Dino Campagna, president of project developer Campagna Ricart and Associates.
The 20,742 square-foot penthouse is spread across two levels, featuring a circular design—from above the residence looks like a golf green. The beachfront location offers gorgeous views, and there’s a stunning exterior pool with a hot tub as well as a private garden.
“It’s unlike anything you can find in the region, with dramatic 360-degree views of the ocean and the Punta Espada Golf Club, making it the ultimate statement property,” Mr. Campagna said.
Anchoring the unit is the first level, which features two primary bedrooms, each with a spacious living room, walk-in closet, bathroom with exterior shower and its own terrace.
The contemporary Italian-style kitchen is fully equipped and comes with a breakfast table, while the dining room and living room were designed for entertaining guests. To that end, the property also encompasses a wine cellar, bar, service kitchen, laundry area and two staff bedrooms with bathrooms and closets.
