The operators of the main recreational marinas in the Dominican Republic, announced the formation of the first Recreational and Sports Marinas Cluster in the country.
The initiative, which is promoted by the National Maritime Affairs Authority (ANAMAR), seeks to potentiate the development of recreational nautical tourism, seeing this as an opportunity for a diverse tourist offer.
In the first meeting of the cluster, the representatives of Casa de Campo, Cap Cana, Santo Domingo Nautical Club, Punta Arena, Ocean World and Limestone Park, considered the first Eco-marina in the region.
The creation of the first Recreational and Sports Marinas Cluster is an important step in strengthening the sector, and contributes to work on the necessary improvements for its development. “The Dominican Republic has been very successful in the development of sun and beach tourism, under the all-inclusive modality, becoming the leader of the Caribbean region. However, the nautical tourism segment faces important challenges that need attention ”, said Pascual Prota Henríquez, president of ANAMAR.
