Much more than an ‘all-inclusive’ wrist resort, Cap Cana is a refuge of luxury, exclusivity, and nature in the Dominican Republic
The name of Cap Cana may not be familiar to everyone, but surely they have heard of Punta Cana. This popular destination, along with the no less well-known Bávaro and La Romana, occupies much of the eastern region of the Dominican Republic, and is one of those dream paradises, although affordable, in which to spend a warm vacation any time of the year.
A few kilometers to the south, the Cap Cana project has been under development for a few years, in an area of about 90 square kilometers framed by an extensive strip of idyllic beaches with their fine white sand, their emerald and turquoise waters, and their belt of coconut palms and, behind it, a thick blanket of almost unexplorable tropical forest.
Marina Cap Cana
A veritable orchard, with restricted access to visitors, in which barely a third of the original project has been built but which already houses places such as the Marina Cap Cana, an exclusive marina where large yachts dock and which is a meeting point for many “beautiful people” who come from the most diverse countries of the American continent.
The idea is for the area to host residential developments and select luxury hotels and resorts, some of which have been in operation for some time.
One of the most recent is Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana, from the Karisma Hotels group, a resort with a very American and attractive concept. With 228 suites and 40 villas, many with private pools, it is somehow the dream and the tangible expression of the life philosophy of singer Jimmy Buffett, whose best-known song (in a style known as island escapism) is precisely Margaritaville.
Everything here revolves around margaritas (the famous cocktail) and undeniable good taste, evident in the decoration of the very large rooms and most of the common areas of the complex.
