Punta Espada hosted The Cap Cana Championship, a PGA Tour’s Champions Tour official event between 2008 – 2010. The annual tournament was televised internationally through the Golf Channel and obtained rave reviews from players and viewers. Fred Couples came out victorious in the 2010 edition shooting a final round 62 to beat Ryder Cup Captain Corey Pavin.
There are several participant tournaments throughout the year, and three favorites fundraising tournaments annually held: the Cap Cana Golf Cup held each year in November, the “CEU- Open” and the David’s Ortiz Celebrity golf tournament in December.

INFRASTRUCTURE TODAY PROVIDES A PLATFORM FOR FUTURE GROWTH
Includes: 35 km (22 miles) of potable water aqueducts; 50 Km (31 miles) of pipes for waste water; 30 km (19 miles) of pipes for irrigation system; sewage and water treatment facilities with a capacity of 900,000 gallons/day; 100km (62 miles) of fiber optics for voice, TV and Internet transmission, wireless coverage in extensive areas of the property.
We also offer 24-hour security and medical assistance. 14 MW of primary, heavy fuel oil generation, plus 20 MW of back up diesel generators, 70km (44 miles) of underground-wired distribution cable and 50km of aerial electrical lines. 46km (25 miles) of paved road are already in place.
Cap Cana offers medical (emergency and ambulance) services, as well as dental services in Ciudad Las Canas. The closest international hospital (Hospiten) is approximately 15KM outside of Cap Cana, where all major international insurances are accepted.

Heritage Bilingual Education Accredited by Advance SACS
Established in August 2007, Cap Cana Heritage School (CCHS) is an American based English private school located in the planned resort and residential community of Cap Cana. The School is the third educational institution of Educación Integral, a well known organization with over 30 years of educational success.
CCHS consists of a preschool program (ages 1-5), an elementary program (grades 1-5), and middle/high school program (grades 6-12). Students arrive from townships spanning 25 miles including Bavaro, Cabeza de Toro, Cap Cana, Punta Cana, and Uvero Alto. The School community is culturally and internationally diverse with 24 nations represented.
Most student families are from the Dominican Republic, followed by Spain, the United States, and Venezuela. Approximately 90% of CCHS students live in dual parent households where two or more languages are spoken. Spanish is most often spoken, followed by English. Tourism and related support industries are the primary employers in the community. CCHS is recognized by the Dominican Republic Ministry of Education and is a candidate for SACS accreditation.
The School is a member of the TRI Association, the Association of Columbian- Caribbean American Schools (ACCAS), and the Inter-Regional Center.
