It also confirms how sports have become one of the destination\u2019s strongest driving forces.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Ironman 70.3: athletes from more than 60 countries will arrive in Cap Cana<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the biggest events of the month will be\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ironman.com\/races\/im703-cap-cana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Ironman 70.3 Cap Cana<\/strong><\/a>, taking place from\u00a0May 16 to 18.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main competition will happen on saturday, May 17, and will bring together more than 1,000 international triathletes. The race combines open-water swimming, cycling, and running across different areas of the destination.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to the athletes, the event is expected to attract coaches, families, and visitors connected to the competition. As a result, activity across the destination will increase significantly during that weekend.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over the years, the race has positioned itself within the regional circuit thanks to factors such as sea conditions, weather, and Cap Cana\u2019s tourism infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Today, the event is already considered one of the most important competitions of its kind in Latin America.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>White Marlin Tournament: sport fishing season returns<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The sports calendar continues with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/marinacapcana.com\/wmt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>White Marlin Tournament 2026<\/strong><\/a>, scheduled from\u00a0May 21 to 23\u00a0at Marina Cap Cana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The competition will bring together boats and sport fishermen from both the Dominican Republic and abroad during one of the most active marlin fishing seasons in the Caribbean.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The tournament follows a\u00a0<strong>catch and release<\/strong>\u00a0format. This practice focuses on releasing species such as White Marlin, Blue Marlin, and Sailfish after they are caught, aligning with the conservation approach that defines these competitions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The schedule includes competition days, an awards ceremony, and special categories for boats and fishermen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beyond the tournament itself, the event also reflects the growing position Marina Cap Cana has gained within the regional sport fishing circuit.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Belote Swimming Tournament: more than 500 children will compete this month<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The calendar also includes the\u00a0<strong>Belote Swimming Tournament 2026<\/strong>, which will take place on\u00a0May 23\u00a0at <a href=\"https:\/\/cchs.edu.do\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cap Cana Heritage School<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The competition will bring together more than 500 children and teams from different parts of the country for a day focused on competitive swimming.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For many participants, this will be their first tournament.
