It may feel a world away from touristy Punta Cana, but Eden Rock is only nine miles from Punta Cana International Airport; complimentary transfers included. Golf carts get you around the property; the beach is five minutes from the villas, or on your doorstep at the Eden Roc Beach Club. Don\u2019t miss Scape Park, two-and-a-half miles away \u2014 a nature park renowned for its spectacular Blue Hole\/Hoyo Azul cave pool.<\/p>\n

Set in lovely grounds around a winding man-made lagoon, there\u2019s no doubt this is a\u00a0picturesque spot along a beautiful stretch of coast. At times, there\u2019s something a little\u00a0disjointed about the sprawling nature of this property (from the villas, it\u2019s a golf cart trip to\u00a0the beach along a paved road) but that doesn\u2019t stop you feeling instantly relaxed. All areas\u00a0from the lobby to the breakfast room are beautifully designed with tropical prints, cool calm\u00a0colours and plenty of light.<\/p>\n

Service is warm and friendly, and staff can help arrange trips to the capital Santo Domingo,\u00a0countryside trips and excursions to outlying islands. It\u2019s hard to fault the facilities: The Beach\u00a0Club has butlers, sparkling-blue infinity pool, two restaurants and a beach bar and\u00a0an excellent kids\u2019 club. Highlights include the Solaya Fitness and Wellness Spa \u2014 the\u00a0one-hour massage in a beach palapa comes highly recommended \u2014 and the Punta Espada\u00a0championship 18-hole golf course.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
