{"id":14857,"date":"2017-09-05T21:04:27","date_gmt":"2017-09-06T01:04:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.capcana.com\/?p=3211"},"modified":"2026-05-28T10:47:49","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T14:47:49","slug":"cap-canas-precautionary-actions-newsletter-hurricane-irma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/capcana.com\/es\/cap-canas-precautionary-actions-newsletter-hurricane-irma\/","title":{"rendered":"CAP CANA&#8217;S PRECAUTIONARY ACTIONS NEWSLETTER &#8211; HURRICANE IRMA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>PRECAUTIONARY ACTIONS NEWSLETTER<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>HURRICANE IRMA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dear Homeowners and Residents,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We hereby bring a newsletter of the precautionary actions that have been carried out and are suggested in the wake of Hurricane IRMA, whose winds and rain will begin to be felt \u00a0tomorrow Wednesday in the early night hours:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Access to Cap Cana from tomorrow afternoon will be limited; we suggest homeowners and residents have their owner \/ resident ID at hand.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cap Cana&#8217;s electrical grid is mostly underground, so we expect to have very little damage to it. However, Cap Cana Caribe could be experiencing power outages, which would also result in temporary outages in the provision of water and telecommunication services. In the event of power outages, Cap Cana Caribe has emergency generators that will facilitate the reestablishment of the service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As for water supply, Aguas de Cap Cana has the necessary resources to maintain the supply and quality of water. Rain drainages have been checked and, in case of flooding, soil conditions favor the rapid absorption of water.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The telecommunications wiring is underground, for which little damage is expected. However, due to weather conditions, the television signal may be interrupted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At this moment, the Cap Cana&#8217;s marina is at 100% of its occupation and is closed for the entrance of new boats. This is because our marina is the only inland built marina in the country, and since yesterday we are lodging boats from the surrounding areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A special emergency brigade has been prepared that will work before, during and after the hurricane to restore services, collect debris and resume operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cap Cana has asked homeowners that are building or remodeling their properties to proceed in removing all construction debris, aluzinc fence panels and any loose objects, which with the force of the winds may cause damage to property and human lives. Likewise, billboards and promotional signs on public roads have already been removed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Condos have been suggested to verify their rain drainage and have a pump system to extract water and prevent flooding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Punta Espada golf course is closed for maintenance until September 12. No obstante, Cap Cana Caribe podr\u00eda estar experimentando cortes en el suministro el\u00e9ctrico, lo que supondr\u00eda tambi\u00e9n un corte en el suministro de servicio de agua y telecomunicaciones moment\u00e1neo. En la eventualidad de que existan cortes en el suministro el\u00e9ctrico, Cap Cana Caribe cuenta con generadores de emergencia que facilitar\u00e1n la reposici\u00f3n del mismo.\u2022 En cuanto al suministro de agua, Aguas de Cap Cana cuenta con los recursos necesarios para mantener el suministro y la calidad del agua. Han sido revisados los drenajes pluviales y, en caso de inundaciones, las condiciones del suelo favorecen la r\u00e1pida absorci\u00f3n del agua.\u2022 El cableado de telecomunicaciones es soterrado, por lo que pudiera resultar poco afectado. No obstante, por las condiciones clim\u00e1ticas, la se\u00f1al de televisi\u00f3n pudiera verse interrumpida.\u2022 En este momento, la Marina de Cap Cana se encuentra a un 100% de su ocupaci\u00f3n y est\u00e1 cerrada para el ingreso de nuevas embarcaciones. Esto se debe a que es la \u00fanica marina construida tierra adentro, y desde ayer estamos albergando botes de las zonas aleda\u00f1as.\n<p>\u2022 Se ha preparado una brigada especial de emergencias que antes, durante y despu\u00e9s del paso del hurac\u00e1n trabajar\u00e1 en restablecer servicios, recoger los escombros y reanudar las operaciones.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Cap Cana ha solicitado a los propietarios que se encuentren haciendo obras o remodelaciones en sus propiedades que procedan a retirar todos los escombros, vallas de aluzinc y cualquier objeto suelto, que, con la fuerza de los vientos pueda suponer un da\u00f1o para alguna propiedad o persona. \u00a0De igual forma, ya han sido retiradas las vallas y letreros promocionales de las v\u00edas p\u00fablicas.<\/li>\n<li>Se ha sugerido a los condominios verificar sus drenajes y contar con un sistema de bombeo para extraer agua y evitar inundaciones.\u2022 El campo de golf Punta Espada se encuentra cerrado por mantenimiento hasta el 12 de Septiembre.
