The Dominican Republic has a new headliner: At $25 million, the mansion-sized Astor Penthouse at The Residences at The St. Regis Cap Cana\u2014set to open later this year\u2014is one of the most expensive properties to hit the country\u2019s housing market.<\/p>\n
Situated on the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic, Cap Cana has become one of the Caribbean\u2019s fastest-growing destinations, with more than $1.9 billion invested in infrastructure and amenities since its inception roughly 20 years ago.<\/p>\n
The duplex \u201cis the crowning jewel of the new St. Regis Cap Cana development,\u201d says Dino Campagna, president of project developer Campagna Ricart and Associates.<\/p>\n
The 20,742 square-foot penthouse is spread across two levels, featuring a circular design\u2014from above the residence looks like a golf green. The beachfront location offers gorgeous views, and there\u2019s a stunning exterior pool with a hot tub as well as a private garden.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s unlike anything you can find in the region, with dramatic 360-degree views of the ocean and the Punta Espada Golf Club, making it the ultimate statement property,\u201d Mr. Campagna said.<\/p>\n
\u200bAnchoring the unit is the first level, which features two primary bedrooms, each with a spacious living room, walk-in closet, bathroom with exterior shower and its own terrace.<\/p>\n
The contemporary Italian-style kitchen is fully equipped and comes with a breakfast table, while the dining room and living room were designed for entertaining guests.
