The players practiced for two days, at the indoor multi sports stadium of the Cap Cana Heritage School, aiming towards the 14th World Maxibasketball Championship to be held in Tuscany,Italy, from June 30 to July 9, in which they will defend the gold title in the M-55 Plus category.
Cap Cana, Dominican Republic June 27, 2017. The team of Dominican Basketball Veterans, who will represent the country in the 14th World Maxibasketball Championship, were received in Cap Cana to give continuity to their training, prior to the sports clash.
Among the Dominican basketball legends shooting hoops within the Montecatini Terme hills, dare to find the powerplays of Victor Chacón, Vinicio Muñoz, Hugo Cabrera, Johnny Duluc, Kenny Jones, Frank Prats, Aldo Leschorn, José Gil, Víctor Rodríguez, Junior Gil, Mitteline Campos, Jim Paulino, Fernando Teruel, Manolo Prince, Raúl Peña, Jorge Suncar, Mario Peña, Juan Coronado, Antonio Langa and José Pérez.
The all-star players were greeted by Dr. Ricardo Hazoury, President of the Cap Cana Council, who highlighted Cap Cana’s pledge of continuously supporting sports, as well as accentuating the world class sport facilities found within the destination. In this same note, he heralded great success to the Dominican team in this new challenge.

The players were on practice for two days, in preparation for the World MaxiBasketball to be held in Italy, from June 30 to July 9, in which they will defend the title gold in the category of M-55 Plus. This grand sporting event brings together 3,150 athletes from around the globe, who make up a total of 210 teams. Three years ago, the Dominican superstars participated in the Orlando 2015 bout resulting in champions of the M-55 category.
The International Federation of MaxiBasketball (FIMBA) is the worldwide organization that gathers and regulates the practice of the World Championship of Basketball for Veterans, where players over 35 years of age can compete in the men’s category and of more than 30 years in the Feminine This category is known worldwide as maxibasquetball, as opposed to minibasquet, gathering traditionally amateur players and great legends retired from high competition basketball.
